Hurricane Delta - Latest Update

Hurricane Delta has rapidly intensified into a major hurricane and is located about 320 miles east-southeast of Cozumel, Mexico. Delta has maximum sustained winds of 115 knots and is moving west-northwest at 14 knots.

#HurricaneDelta is expected to remain in a favorable environment and strengthening is expected for the next 24 hours, with some weakening as it crosses the Yucatan Peninsula. Once Delta emerges into the Gulf of Mexico, environmental conditions will be favorable for restrengthening until Delta reaches the cooler waters of the northern Gulf of Mexico. Once Delta makes landfall along the northern Gulf Coast late Friday night or early Saturday morning, rapid weakening is expected.
